Breaking news:SADC to discuss Zimbabwe unfolding situation today


Foreign Affair Ministers from Southern African Development Community (SADC)’s Organ Troika Member States are going to meet later today (Thursday afternoon) in Gaborone, Botswana to discuss unfolding political and security situation in Zimbabwe.
The SADC Organ Troika Member States is composed of Republic of Angola, United Republic of Tanzania and Republic of Zambia, plus the SADC Council Chairperson who is the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation for South Africa.

The regional block’s statement says, the chairperson of SADC His Excellency President Jacob Zuma of South Africa has called the meeting to discuss security and political matters of Zimbabwe following military takeover of the Southern African country which gained its independence in 1980.

Robert Mugabe has been the President since the country was liberated from British colonial power until late Tuesday when military intervened claiming that it was targeting ‘criminals’ surrounding the head of state.
