According to the popular website of Addis Standard, Gemeda has taken that decision last week as a protest against the State's actions in the defense of the Oromia and Somali provinces.
The main reason has been described as a criticism of the Government's use of defense forces in those areas when 50 people have been reported to die and more than 150,000 people have lost their homes due to a racial-related ethnic crisis.
